Maritim expands its management team and entrusts Haje Thurau with overall responsibility for sales

Since his appointment on 7th July 2014, Haje Thurau has been head of sales and marketing at the Maritim Hotelgesellschaft Head Office in Bad Salzuflen, Germany.

With the appointment of Haje Thurau as Authorised Officer and Group Commercial Director, Maritim is assigning a stronger role to the key areas of sales and marketing. The 40-year-old father recently completed a highly successful term in charge of the multi-award-winning Maritim Hotel in Mauritius and previously worked for several years as Director of Sales Germany and Poland for the NH Hoteles Group. Even before his time at NH Hoteles, Thurau, a trained hotel manager, had held several posts with Maritim in Titisee, Malta, Darmstadt, Wuerzburg and Hanover, for example as Regional Sales Director. "These days, effective marketing is more indispensable than ever and innovative sales concepts with modern instruments will help us to strengthen our market position both nationally and internationally. This appointment underscores our endeavours to implement new sales strategies promptly and to renew and further expand our commercial activities," says Dr Monika Gommolla, owner and chairwoman of the Maritim Hotels supervisory board.
